Tanuki

What it can do

Good at: PR & Communications · Marketing & Growth

Surface Shifting: Can change how work is presented without changing its underlying substance.

Its weakness

The catch: Excessive masking can create ambiguity about what is actually happening.

Less suited to: Finance · Operations & Programs

Never does: Showing its hand before the end.

How it fights — your starting playbook

Its role: The Shapeshifter — works in plain sight and changes its shape only at the end

First move: Work its furthest piece; in the last two rounds, answer a hit by opening a route from its lead.

Attack — Leaf Disguise: While you lead, the piece you just moved is not what it seemed: back a stage.

Guard — Plain Sight: The first attack on any of its work finds something else.

This is where it starts. In the league you steer it — when to attack, when to defend, how hard.
